Want to increase your worth by at least 50%? Warren Buffett has a hint.
Things to know: Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A) (NYSE: BRK-B) Chairman and CEO Buffett once said that improving communication is an easy way to add value to yourself.
According to a CNBC report, the legendary investor said in a LinkedIn video, “One easy way to get at least 50% more value than you have now is to hone your communication skills, both written and verbal.
“If you can’t communicate, it’s like winking at a girl in the dark. Nothing happens. You can have all the brains in the world, but if you can’t communicate it No,” he added.

Buffett had communication problems when he was younger, and if it weren’t for the $100 college courses he probably wouldn’t be where he is today.
As a teenager, the “Oracle of Omaha” had an extreme fear of public speaking. Another report said that in my early college days, I only signed up for classes that I knew didn’t require me to present in front of the room.
Much of his own success is due to a public speaking course he enrolled in shortly after graduating from Columbia Business School.
Before taking classes, he said, “I was literally throwing up,” considering speaking in public. By the time he finished the 12-week course, he was comfortable with his communication skills.

“I just kept doing it, but now I can’t stop talking,” Buffett said.
Buffett is the sixth richest person in the world, according to Forbes, with an estimated net worth of $105.7 billion at the time of publication. His fund has historically outperformed his S&P 500, with an average annualized return of nearly 12% for him over the past decade.
