The most important thing to do today is update your investment candidates. Nominations are important for all assets/investments. This ensures that the candidate/heir will at least have access to the money if something happens to you.
Even the regulator, SEBI, insists that all retail investors must either offer a nomination or opt out of a nomination, regardless of the form of holding.
I think adding candidates is a better option.
Here are some links to add/update candidates for stocks, ETFs and mutual fund investments.
- For stocks and ETFs, if you have a demat account on NSDL, please use this link to add your nominees.
- For mutual funds, if you have a CAN or MFU common account number, you can find recommendations at this link.
- Mutual funds can also use MFCentral’s profile update feature. In fact, MFCentral allows you to do a lot of non-financial transactions like updating contact details and candidates.
Update mutual fund contact details
In the meantime, please also update your contact details (email and mobile phone) for two-factor authentication of your transactions. This means that before submitting a buy/sell transaction, he must enter his OTP sent via mobile/email.
Investors using MFU’s CAN, please use this link for contact details.
You should have received separate emails from each service provider. If you haven’t received it yet, please complete it today.
