Google’s AI chatbot Bard gives wrong information in ads

In a demonstration at this week’s launch event, Alphabet’s (NASDAQ:) new AI-powered chatbot Bard allegedly made an error when answering questions.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT rival AI search assistant was unveiled on Tuesday, but animated images of Bard in action give the wrong answers to questions about new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope.
An animated image distributed by Google shows a chatbot taking a question from a user.
In one of his responses, Bard said:
However, this is inaccurate and Reuters says the correct answer is “The first photograph of an exoplanet was taken by the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in 2004, as confirmed by NASA.” It is said that it is.
Yet Google’s own featured snippet, at the time of writing, still says it’s the James Webb Space Telescope.
Reported inaccuracies can raise questions about the accuracy of search engines and answers to questions generated by AI chatbots.
