January 28th, STIIIZY unveiled its newest cannabis retailer, STIIIZY Soma, Located in the heart of San Francisco’s SOMA district. This new clinic represents a unique partnership between STIIIZY and community leaders. Rudy Corpus Jr. who through his organization united playaz, For almost 30 years, we have worked in our neighborhoods in San Francisco to prevent violence and promote community development.
Raised in the Soma area, Rudy was licensed to open a pharmacy through the San Francisco Cannabis Social Equity Program with the support of the California Department of Cannabis and the San Francisco Equity Group. Founded by Rudy in 1994, her United Playaz has helped hundreds of people return to civic life after serving prison terms. Additionally, since 2020, with the support of STIIIZY, the organization’s annual gun buyback program has removed approximately 4,500 guns and 500 of his Assault rifles from the streets.
STIIIZY SoMa not only provides a convenient place for cannabis enthusiasts to purchase their favorite products, it also serves as a way to give back to the community. A portion of the store’s proceeds will be used to support community organizations in the city that focus on the same causes as United Playaz: youth violence prevention, restorative justice, and gun violence.
“I see this store as a way to heal the community,” said Rudy. “How cannabis heals people here that society has turned its back on, like buying back guns, financially supporting families hurt by gun violence, hiring trapped siblings, and now trying to give back. There’s a lot. Above.”
The grand opening of STIIIZY SoMa will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Rudy, District 6 Supervisor Matt Dorsey, and other distinguished attendees. STIIIZY fans can look forward to product giveaways such as branded Bones, Puffco Peak and STIIIZY custom his skateboard his deck. The opening of STIIIZY SoMa is an important milestone for the Filipino community in his SoMa neighborhood in San Francisco, as it represents an effort by the community to become a stakeholder in their own neighborhood.
